Behind the audrey label is Audrey Lam—a Londoner of Malaysian extraction, living in New York, who draws on inspiration and influences from around the world. Trained first at Edinburgh College of Art, Audrey attended the internationally renowned Central St. Martin’s, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Fashion, specializing in print. Her career got off to an auspicious start when she began designing innovative prints for the market-dominant brand Diesel. In 1999, she became textile designer for one of the most iconic names in fashion, Calvin Klein. Audrey set up her own independent operation in 2005, consulting for designers and fashion companies in the U.S. and Europe.

The brand that now carries Audrey’s name was born out of a desire to create original prints that could become tomorrow’s classics. Referencing her own artwork in varied media—etchings, screen prints and illustrations—her inspirational designs are translated onto fabric.

The audrey label reimagines the formal silk scarf, creating visual accents, textures and intonations that accentuate today’s eclectic stylings. Typical signature prints are marked by the exquisite use of color and a bold, elegant cursive handwriting that together put a classic twist on functional yet aesthetically beautiful textiles. These are distinctive and striking accessories that have grown out of a deep love for technique and design, fusing a modern sensibility with traditional hand-finished craftsmanship.

The début collection for audrey Fall 2011 is inspired by her own etchings, observations and photos that capture the vibrancy and nuances of New York.
